STEMC Service Installation Specifications
In an effort to provide timely service to new members, Southwest TN EMC has developed a packet of Operating Procedures and Specification Drawings to help the member through the process of establishing service. Included with this streamlining are some changes that are a shift from STEMC’s normal service practices. For example, after January 1st, 2016, STEMC will no longer open and close ditches for underground secondary or primary. Also, there are more requirements for member installed conduit rather than direct burial of underground cables. Another change, is to provide FREE underground services on residential accounts up to 150-feet. These changes were initiated to provide more timely installations and reduce future outage times while more closely match utility best practices and trends.
