SMC Grants 4th Qtr 2019
The second round of grants have been awarded to organizations in our community.
We are excited to share with you that Southwest Members Care has donated $36,964.18 to these very worthy causes.
Chester County Volunteer Fire Department
Because of our members who participate in the "round up" program, the Chester Co. Fire Dept. will now be able to replace outdated helmets and tools to enable fire fighters to more safely serve our community.
Chester County Senior Center
Seniors will soon be enjoying a new outside covered pavilion w/ lawn furniture & games thanks to generous members who participate in Southwest Members Care "round up" program. Just pennies a month adds up to make a big difference in our community!
Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center - Tipton Co.
The Tipton Co. Carl Perkins center will use their grant funds to provide food, hygiene items and cleaning supplies for their pantry.
Henderson County 4-H
The Henderson Co. 4-H will use Southwest Members Care "round up" grant for VEX Robotics team and allow students to attend the 2020 Presidential Inauguration. Pocket change can open doors of opportunity for local students
Chester County 4-H
Chester Co. 4-H students will reap the benefits of the community donating their pocket change thru the Southwest Members Care "round up" program.
Covington Fire Department
Not only does the Covington Fire Dept. serve the City of Covington, but a large portion of Tipton Co. They will use their grant for a vital extraction tool to use in responding to accidents in our area.
Brownsville/Haywood Rescue Squad
The Rescue Squad will use their grant to replace outdated equipment and tools for rescue workers, including chain saws, hard hats and chain saw chaps.
Chester County Library
A STEMC/Markerspace area will soon be coming to the Chester County Library thanks to the Southwest Members Care participants.
Lee Ola Roberts Library
Safety will be improved at the Lee Ola Roberts Library in Whiteville with the funds from the Southwest Members Care "round up" grant the library received.
Henderson County Fire Department Station 11, Luray, TN
The grant awarded to the Hendersion Co. Fire Dept. will be used to purchase fire safety coloring books along with other materials that will support the awareness program. The contribution will help in meeting their on-going goal of educating citizens obout fire safety and prevention. They plan to focus initial efforts on students in the western portion of Henderson County, specifically 2nd and 3rd grade students within the area schools currently consisting of 296 students.
